Exhibitions afoot
Since coming back from Chile my work has ended up in a few exhibitions, first in Galeria El Catascopio in Barcelona during open studios, festival in Udine, Italy, and finally this coming weekend I will take part in an illustration festival in Berlin http://www.hammeraue.de/illufest/ alongside with a number of nice illustrators including Cristina Sitja whose work I really like. If you happened to be in Berlin this weekend please stop by. I will be showing my work from the Universe series.

Vida
For a long time now I have taken small steps towards working with fabric. A project called Vida based in San Francisco, CA (but available internationally) has made it possible to experiment with application of art on to good quality fabrics. You can find some more pieces here: http://shopvida.com/collections/voices/alexandra-sternin

Sharjah
This year I took a break traveling for a couple of months in Chile (tiring and amazing). I came back to some good news to have been invited to the Sharjah International Book Fair in the UAE.
My illustrations were selected as second place winners in the exhibition. There were some really fantastic illustrators in the exhibition, so while I am very grateful for the prize, I think arguably there were equally deserving illustrators to hold this spot. In any case, the visit, the fair, and connections were so nice. Particular thank you to Fereshteh Najafi, Sonja Danowski, Valentina Piacenza, Daniel Garson Cabral, Islam Zian-Alabdeen and many many others who made the trip so special.
